New Approaches to Evaluation
Evaluation and Film
Gerri has been
collaborating on evaluations with film-maker Annie Woodson for the
past two years.
She says ‘Annie’s films help to contextualise work – they are beautiful visual accounts of the who, where, when and what of programmes and projects. It enables me to write shorter evaluations, with a tighter focus on what lessons have been learned by organisations, partners and participants and on suggestions for how the work could develop in the future.’
Their first collaboration was commissioned by National Theatre Wales for their WalesLab programme, funded by the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, link and they have recently finished a film for Manchester International Festival . They are currently collaborating on evaluations for Cohesion Sheffield and Amgueddfa Cymru, National Museum Wales.
Evaluation Support: Paul Hamlyn Foundation
Organisations who
make successful applications to the Paul Hamlyn Foundation's
‘Explore and Test Programme’ are offered two days additional
support from an evaluation advisor. The advisor works closely with
the organisation to help them think through what methods of
evaluation and dissemination are most appropriate for them. Gerri
is in a pool of potential evaluation advisors and has worked with
Cast in Doncaster, Fallen Angels Dance Theatre and The Irene Taylor
Trust and TIPP.
